Free AI mock interview practice

Practise with an AI interviewer before the interview that counts. Resume-based and tech-stack sessions, voice-led, with feedback you can review afterwards. Free, no credit card.

Why practising out loud changes the result

Most interview preparation happens silently, reading questions, thinking through answers, feeling ready. Then the interview starts and the answer comes out twice as long and half as clear as it was in your head.

That gap is mechanical rather than intellectual. Speaking a structured answer under mild pressure is a separate skill from knowing the material, and it is the one almost nobody rehearses. Candidates who practise aloud notice their own filler, their tendency to trail off, and the question they keep answering badly, none of which is visible from reading.

An AI interviewer is useful here specifically because it is low-stakes and repeatable. You can fail an answer four times at no cost, which is not true of a real interview and awkward to ask of a friend.

What mock interviews will not fix

Worth being straight about the limits. Practice improves delivery, structure, and confidence. It does not give you knowledge of the company, judgement about the role, or experience you have not had.

If an interview goes badly because you had not researched the product or could not explain why you want the job, more practice sessions will not help. That is preparation of a different kind. Use practice for the parts that are genuinely performance, and research for the parts that are homework.

Practice modes

Resume-based practice

Questions are drawn from your own resume: the projects, roles, and education actually on it. This is the practice that matters most, because a real interviewer will do the same thing, and the question you cannot answer is usually about something you wrote yourself.

Tech-stack practice

Choose a topic and difficulty and practise technical questions against it. Useful when you know the stack a company uses and want to rehearse explaining your experience with it out loud rather than in your head.

Live AI voice interview

Practice runs in the same voice-led format recruiters use for screening on Edvenity. Speaking an answer is a different skill from knowing it, and the gap between the two is where most interviews are lost.

Feedback history

Previous feedback stays available, so you can see whether the thing you were told to fix last time actually improved. One practice session is a data point; a series is a trend.

Frequently asked questions

Is AI mock interview practice free?

Yes. Mock interview practice is free for candidates on Edvenity, no credit card required, alongside the AI resume builder, ATS-safe templates, and job application tracker in the same account.

How does AI interview practice work?

You choose resume-based or tech-stack practice, complete a voice-led interview with an AI interviewer, and receive feedback covering your answers, strengths, and areas to improve. Previous feedback stays in your account so you can track progress.

Do mock interviews actually help?

They help most with the mechanical parts of interviewing: saying an answer out loud, structuring a response under mild pressure, and noticing filler or rambling. They help less with company-specific or role-specific judgement, which comes from researching the employer and the work.

Is this the same AI that screens candidates on Edvenity?

Yes. Recruiters use the same AI interview engine to screen applicants, so practising here is practice in the exact format some employers will use. Your practice sessions are separate from any real application and are not shared with recruiters.

What should I practise before a real interview?

Start with resume-based practice, because those questions are guaranteed to come up. Then rehearse the two or three answers you were least comfortable with, rather than repeating the ones you already deliver well.
